The SOS Children's Villages in China were founded in 1984. Thanks to the profound concern of the Chinese Govenment and with the sincere cooperation and great help from SOS Kinderdorf International, particularly from Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, the founder of SOS Children Village and Mr.Helmut Kutin, the President of SOS Kinderdorf International.SOS Children's Village in China have made great achievements. Up to now, there are 9 SOS Children's Villages and 2 Hermann Gmeiner Schools have been established in Tianjin, Yantai,Qiqihar,Nanchang,Chengdu,Kaifeng,Putian,Urumqi and Lhasa.The tenth SOS Children's Village of China is being prepared to construct.

     As a charitable organization to save orphans in society, the familytype care for orphans takes place in SOS Children's Village. In more than a decade. a great number of orphans are leading a happy life with family's warm and mother's love in SOS Children's Village.

    In SOS Children's Village, orphans can have not only a happy life but also a nice bright future. Up to now,lots of children of SOS Children's Villages have gone for jobs and they have become useful people for soceity. Orphans have been given by SOS Children's Village an unforgetable happy memories in their life.

    SOS Children's Village in China are implementing strictly the aim of SOS Kinderdorf International, the working guidance of SOS Children's Village China and the Standardized Administration measures. Sll the mothers and staff of SOS Children's Villages are working hard for children's fostering. The new interpersonal relationaship with equality,unity,love and mutual help has been set up in SOS Children's Village. The SOS Children's Village has become a civilized "window" there and the best charity.

     SOS Children's Village Association China is an organization in charge of SOS Children's Villages in China and a full member of SOS Kinderdorf International. Her National Coodination Office(NCO) in Beijing is reponsible for coordination with SOS Kinderdorf International and SOS Children's Villages and for adoption of contributions from organizations, groups and individuals, domestic and abroad.
